Lusaka, April 28 – On this rather solemn but befitting National Day in honour of our leading national hero, Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda, my family and I send our heartfelt greetings to his family and to the people of Zambia.

Let us all honour the great spirit of this legendary son of Zambia and through him, also uphold the pioneering spirit of national unity he and his colleagues of the generation of struggle left us.

No one among the succeeding politicians of our time has a right to undermine this unity that has glued this nation together for six decades now.

Let’s collectively honour his memory, by respecting the values this great Pan Africanist stood for. Any thing to the contrary, will be a shameless betrayal of his legacy.

Let us all, in genuine unity and love for mother Zambia, celebrate the memory of this giant of history, super Ken, in the manner he would have loved us to do: One Zambia, One Nation!
