Altogether, the ECL family has amassed approximately K231m, and that’s just from five individuals. It’s as if they have tapped into an infinite source of riches, while the rest of the country struggles to stay afloat.

Lusaka, June 26 – Once upon a time in the land of Zambia, there lived a family that had a knack for accumulating wealth at the expense of the poor majority. This family, known as the ECL family, had managed to amass a staggering fortune that would make even the wealthiest of individuals envious.
First, we have Dalitso Lungu, the patriarch of the family. His assets and cash alone amount to a jaw-dropping K100m. It seems that money just can’t help but gravitate towards him, like a moth to a flame.

Next in line is Chiyeso Lungu, the golden child of the family. He owns luxurious lodges, Ibex mansions, and who knows what else, all worth a cool K25m. It’s as if the universe conspired to shower him with opulence, while the rest of the country struggled to make ends meet.
Tasila Lungu, on the other hand, decided to venture into the world of aquaculture. She has fish ponds and a farm in Sinda that are valued at a remarkable K13m. Who would have thought that fish could be such profitable creatures? Meanwhile, the average citizen can barely afford a decent meal.
Let us not forget about Faith Musonda, one of the fortunate souls to have found themselves connected to the ECL family. She has accumulated a fortune of K65m through some mysterious means. It’s almost as if the family has a magic wand, turning their acquaintances into millionaires overnight.
Last but not least, we have Mrs. Esther Lungu, the elegant matriarch of the family. Her assets and cash amount to a modest K28m. Modest, that is, compared to the rest of the family’s fortunes. It seems that even in this family, there are hierarchies of wealth.
Altogether, the ECL family has amassed approximately K231m, and that’s just from five individuals. It’s as if they have tapped into an infinite source of riches, while the rest of the country struggles to stay afloat.
To make matters worse, this family’s reign has led Zambia into a staggering debt of $26bn. It’s as if they saw the country’s financial stability as a competition, and they were determined to win at all costs. Meanwhile, the poor majority are left to bear the burden of this crippling debt, wondering how they will ever escape the cycle of poverty.

What’s even more infuriating is that anyone who dares to expose the corruption and ask questions is met with a barrage of threats and intimidation. The regime had become so powerful that they saw themselves as untouchable, above the law.
But perhaps there is a glimmer of hope. Perhaps, just perhaps, the emperor will realize that he is naked. Maybe, just this once, he will listen to the cries of the people and address their concerns. After all, even the most powerful rulers can only ignore their subjects for so long before the truth catches up to them.
In the end, let this be a cautionary tale for future generations. Let them remember the ECL family and the havoc they wreaked upon Zambia. May they learn from these mistakes and never allow a family empire to trample upon the hopes and dreams of the poor majority again.

Although you have put a disclaimer Dr Mwelwa your case is can be contended in the courts of law as the issues cited are too sensitive and most of them in the courts. Its a prejudicial contempt and scandalous with intentation of spreading hate speech and bitterness on the former leader. Am non partisan and peace builder am praying for such readings to cease in our nation about all who laboured for us. Am also praying it doesn’t repeat itself on Our current President HH after his tenure.
We can build peace and harmony and find workable solutions without pointing fingers. Vindicative leadership at the expense of national values and advance in developing us which why we elected HH is emotional violence on all of us. Let’s pray for HH and support him as he serve and put ECL is respective position as our former leader. Jesus would ask a question to you. If you where in ECL position what would you do? He is emotionally broken and need our support too. Dont speculate dont say things tou are not sure of on social media and lastly use your cognitive gifts to build this nation for our posterity. Love you doctor.
