Hichilema’s treason co-accused, and 5 in total, have entered into a consent judgement with the State for them to be paid K6.4m each from empty coffers.

Lusaka, 4th Sept. – In February 2022, the Livingstone High Court awarded Veronica Mukuni and four others K500,000 each as damages for false imprisonment and malicious prosecution. This was in connection to the Hatembo case.
On 31st August, Mr. Hichilema’s treason co-accused and who are five (5) UPND cadres, have entered into a consent judgement with the State for them to be paid K6.4m each as full and final settlement in a matter in which they are seeking damages for unlawful prosecution. The parties have also agreed that the Attorney General shall pay the sum of K1m as costs.

The amounts being paid out by these UPND appointed State Officials to their party members are nothing short of ‘legitimate’ looting of state coffers and is eyebrow raising and shockingly high.
It is within the powers of these State Officials to do what they are doing and we cannot do anything about it, however, they must remember the scripture that says “All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify. Let no one seek his own, but each other’s well-being.”
Do not think that Zambians are ignoramuses that can continue to be fooled. We continue to watch. Be fair to Zambians, not just your own interests.
But beyond respecting and ‘fearing’ the people of Zambia, remember that God sees all things and is the ultimate Judge. Rather, fear Him as you discharge your duties.
