Young Parliamentarians will not allow Parliament to degenerate because of poor leadership. We will do anything and everything to protect the integrity of Parliament and for that we are prepared to stake our lives for it.
By Binwell Mpundu | Nkana MP.
Lusaka, Nov. 2 – The raping of our Constitution with impunity will not go down unchallenged. What we saw yesterday in Parliament is an abomination of the worst kind. The Speaker cannot entertain instructions from anyone (today every Jim and Jack can write to the Speaker and she entertains it, what sort of a country is she trying to create?) even when as a lawyer herself she knows, or at least she should have known, that the matter she was was entertaining was before the courts of law and that the court has not pronounced itself. Worse still, even the Registrar of Societies has refused to entertain such nonsense.

What we saw yesterday when Jack Mwimbu called State Police with an attempt to to get them into the Chamber of Parliament to handle Members of Parliament is not only sad but the highest level of disregard for the sanctity of our Constitution. How can a normal man who is learned and has been a Member of Parliament for two decades attempt to send police officers into the Chamber of Parliament something that cannot happen even in Afghanistan? Just How Can One Attempt To Do That?
Dear Zambians, I will say to you that there is always a limit to which we can allow this nonsensical attempt to turn this country into a bedroom for someone to do what they please. Any normal Zambian today must stand up and question this raping of the Constitution with impunity.

The Speaker should be reminded that Parliament is a bedrock of democracy and even when democracy fails everywhere, it cannot be allowed to fail in Parliament.
We, as young Parliamentarians, will not allow Parliament to degenerate because of poor and selfish leadership and we will do anything and everything to protect the integrity of Parliament and will protect and defend our Constitution and for that we are prepared to stake our lives for it. The next time Jack Mwimbu will attempt to do what he tried to do yesterday, he will have himself to blame!
