“In politics, If you want anything said, ask a man. If you want anything done, ask a woman,” Margaret Thatcher observed. Was this not a perfect description of the performance of Mr. Hichilema?
Lusaka, Feb. 10 – Having read a few books by Margaret Thatcher, I am very convinced that Zambia must take a different political route in 2026. Madam Thatcher believed that one of the great problems of our age is that we are governed by people who care more about feelings than they do about thoughts and ideas.
“In politics, If you want anything said, ask a man. If you want anything done, ask a woman,” she observed. Was this not a perfect description of the performance of the President of the Republic of Zambia?
But great leaders have always recognised the role of a woman that has played in society.
“In 1964, Kenneth Kaunda nominated Malina Kajila Chilila-Makhubalo as Member of Parliament. The 24 year old was one of the five women to sit in the first session of the National Assembly of Zambia alongside Nakatindi Nganga Wina, Esther Banda, Margaret Mbeba, and Madeline Robertson. Yesterday, I was humbled to meet her. Living legends!” – Mulenga Kapwepwe.

The UPND, in spite of having been very vocal and relentless in attacking the PF when they were in opposition, seem to be rather rudderless, committing political blunder after blunder.
Today in Zambian politics, if you want anything said, ask President Hichilema. If you want anything done, look out for a woman President! And that’s exactly what we should do, as per madam Margaret Thatcher.
