On Wednesday, Trump told Fox News’ Sean Hannity, “Look, when this election is over, based on what they’ve done, I would have every right to go after them, and it would be easy because it’s Joe Biden.”
Following a five-week trial in New York, Trump was convicted of falsifying business records to facilitate a $130,000 payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels as hush money. The former president worried that his relationship with Daniels may have damaged his 2016 presidential campaign. Throughout the trial, Trump falsely claimed that the evidence was rigged against him.
This is not the first time Trump has spoken about going after his political enemies.
In June, shortly after appearing in court at a federal courthouse in Miami for charges linked to his handling of classified documents post-White House, he declared that he would investigate the alleged corruption of Joe Biden.
“I will designate an independent special prosecutor to investigate the alleged corruption of Joe Biden. He’s the most corrupt president in American history, and I will investigate the Biden family’s alleged criminal activities,” Trump declared.
Responding to Trump’s Wednesday interview with Hannity, Biden campaign spokesperson Michael Tyler, issued a statement saying America had seen a Donald Trump is consumed by rage and visibly rattled following his felony conviction.
Michael Tyler described Donald Trump as someone who has visibly lost control and whose candidacy is increasingly posing a threat.
“Trump’s overwhelming focus on personal grievances leads him to disregard the consequences for others as long as it benefits himself,” Michael Tyler explained.
