Zambia Police Dismisses Allegations Against Africa's Candidate For The Position Of INTERPOL SG

Lusaka, June 24 – In a dramatic turn of events, the Zambia Police Service, under the formidable leadership of Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Milner Muyambango, has vehemently denounced the unfounded and spiteful accusations hurled by the British law firm Leverets Barristers and Solicitors.

These shocking allegations, made on behalf of Mr. Vinod Sadhu and Mr. Uddit Sadhu and sensationalized by The Guardian on June 24, 2024, target Mr. Mubita Nawa, the Deputy Commissioner of Police and Africa’s distinguished contender for INTERPOL Secretary General.

The assertions proffered by their legal advocates are unequivocally baseless, evidently crafted to besmirch the unblemished stature of Mr. Nawa at the pivotal juncture of the impending INTERPOL Secretary General electoral proceedings.

“The Zambia Police Service has conferred on this matter with INTERPOL’s Executive Committee and its President. Today, we have lodged a formal grievance with the Executive Committee concerning these spurious allegations,” stated the Acting Inspector General of Police.

“These baseless accusations constitute a deliberate smear campaign intended to sabotage Africa’s candidacy and tarnish Mr. Nawa’s esteemed reputation. The Zambia Police Service unequivocally supports Mr. Nawa, whose integrity and professionalism have set an exemplary standard throughout his illustrious law enforcement career.
