Their attempt to persuade Hon. Banda to exonerate the named abductors is as heinous as Hon. Banda’s criminal abduction and torture.

Lusaka, July 6 – I have listened to the circulating audio and have further learned that the family possesses a longer video that even features a Minister. I also heard social media commentator, Chitambala “Simon” Mwewa, trying to downplay the details and dismiss the emerging revelations as a mere plea bargain.

But what is clear and has remained a legitimate constant requirement, is that State House officials; Clayson Hamasaka and Levy Ngoma and UPND Deputy National Youth Chairperson, Trevor Mwiinde must be arrested and prosecuted for their alleged role in the abduction and torture of Petauke Central Independent MP Hon. Emmanuel JJ Banda.
This is because the victim, Hon. Emmanuel JJ Banda, told the Police and named who his abductors were and proceeded to sign a sworn affidavit before the Lusaka High Court to repeat the assertions.
The more alarming issue in the recently surfaced audio is the serious criminal activity and the conspiracy to cover up the crime.

In the audio, Permanent Secretary of Information and Media Thabo Kawana and Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs Dickson Matembo can be heard urging Hon. Emmanuel JJ Banda to retract his statement to the named police officers and his sworn affidavit, which implicated State House officials Levy Ngoma and Clayson Hamasaka in his abduction and brutal torture.
Kawana is caught red-handed, offering to sweep the alleged criminal cases against Hon. Emmanuel JJ Banda under the rug if he would turn a blind eye to the State House abductors! With Matembo’s nodding approval, Kawana assures that the State can drop the charges against the lawmaker and guarantee his freedom, like trading favors in the shadows.
The pair is also heard twisting Hon. JJ Banda’s arm, trying to make him backpedal on the media statement issued by his lawyer, Hon. Sakwiba Sikota SC, and withdraw the affidavit filed in the Lusaka High Court. They insist that Hon. Emmanuel JJ Banda must first clear the names of the State House abductors, adding fuel to the fire of JJ’s own criminal actions.
The State must cut Hon. Emmanuel JJ Banda loose and immediately go after the implicated State House officials Levy Ngoma and Clayson Hamasaka for the abduction and the attempted cover-up. Time to call a spade a spade and clean house!
