Your appointment as Deputy General Secretary (Political) is terminated effective immediately. You may appeal this decision to the party President.
Lusaka, Aug. 4 – The Socialist Party has dismissed its Deputy General Secretaries for Politics and Administration, Comrades Antonio Mwanza and Alick Tembo, with immediate effect.

“Dear Comrade Antonio. This is to inform you that your appointment as Deputy General Secretary (Political) has been terminated with immediate effect. You have the right to appeal this termination with the party President. I thank you for the services you rendered to the party in this position!” reads the letter by Dr. Cosmas Musumali, the party’s General Secretary.
This decisive action follows what Woodpecker’s Digest feels is related to a recent incident in which Comrade Mwanza made a Facebook post that was deemed objectionable by the Lusaka Province Youth Chairperson.
“If ECL is blocked or he decides not to stand, whichever candidate or party he may choose to support will greatly benefit from his endorsement. He has enough following to influence the election result!” Cde Mwanza’s statement read.
“Comrade Mwanza, we know your motives of destabilising the party (the SP). As a Provincial Youth Chairman for Lusaka, I have given you 48hrs to resign and surrender all party properties now! If you fail to do so we shall come with full force and lock your office. Comply!” – reacted the Lusaka Province Youth Chairperson.
Is this the caliber of political leadership we are to anticipate from Comrade Fred M’membe? Displaying such arrogance when the party hasn’t even come close to securing any Parliamentary seats is a glaring red flag that cannot be ignored. Zambia deserves better.
Let’s see what UKA has up its sleeve! The SP will just be a repetition of the retrogressive self serving political rhetoric that has always relegated democracy and development to the backseat.
