24th October 2023: God has promised us our Heritage! Keep your hope alive. Happy Independence Day!!!

Lusaka, Oct. 23 – As I was thinking about our Independence Day, I couldn’t help thinking about the Children of Israel when in bondage in Egypt. They had received a word from their forefathers that God would give them their own land. Their very own Heritage…a land flowing with milk and honey.

What they saw and physically experienced was totally the opposite to that! As king after king, Pharaoh after Pharaoh or President after President came, things got worse by the day.
After 400 years, God sent Moses and Aaron. Listen to what transpired:
Therefore say to the children of Israel: I am the LORD; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the LORD your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and I will give it to you as a heritage: I am the LORD.
So Moses spoke thus to the children of Israel; but they did not heed Moses, because of anguish of spirit and cruel bondage.
In Zambia, we have had President after President but our personal circumstances seem to get worse with each President. We have come to a point where we now no longer believe that things can get better.
We have lived for 59 years under Independence but our hopes have been dashed again and again until we have reached a stage where, even when someone comes to us with a message of hope, because of the anguish of our spirits and the cruel bondage that we have endured, we will not listen.

But God is faithful. There is no Word of His that falls idle to the ground. He has promised us our Heritage…..We shall receive our last leg of Independence and enjoy the Heritage that is Zambia. We shall, yet, enjoy the fruits of this land.
Freedom is a precious gift; let’s cherish and protect it. Zambia is our territory, Zambia is our land.
Let’s stand together with pride!
May our unity and diversity continue to shine brightly, making Zambia a land of hope, opportunity and heritage.
Keep your hope alive. Happy Independence Day!!!
