What Hichilema has failed to exhibit, is the ability to identify and put those with the technical know-how and ability in key positions needing such expertise.
Lusaka, Nov. 10 – Dr. Chitalu Chilufya’s result oriented approach to addressing health issues have always unsettled the ignorant Health Minister, Hon. Sylvia Masebo, who should have not been made Health Minister in the first place.

Hon. Dr. Chitalu Chilufya, was not trying to be intelligent, he was explaining what Hon. Sylvia Masebo does not seem to understand. Unfortunately, Hon. Masebo’s brain cells easily overheat when used so his explanation was all in vain.
To bring you up to speed, you may recall when the UPND propaganda machine once chose to distort the Ministry of Health’s pharmacology activities and reported that Dr. Chilufya had imported toxic medicines, merely to suit its political agenda.
And yet, it is the responsibility of the Ministry of Health, through Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA), to assure the quality, safety and efficacy of medicines being made available to the Zambian public.
Pharmacology is a science and it’s used by the Ministry of Health to facilitate early detection of medicines that might cause Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs).
Shouldn’t the Ministry of Health, instead, be commended for having put in place a robust pharmacovigilance system which includes receipt, collation, causality assessment and provision of feedback on received ADRs and medicines quality problems?
The assault, at the time, failed so they wanted to take it personal, and that’s what the former Health Minister was trying to, once again, explain. Health is apolitical. And it’s great to see Dr. Chilufya emphasising this point. Let’s all say NO to politicising the health sector!
This is why we keep advocating for a well thought out political system which should prioritise development. The current system has lead to inefficient governments, endless power transitions and social chaos. A political system that encourages schemes that cherish the suffering of people can never achieve economic emancipation of its people.
