Mr. Nawa, who holds a bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree from the University of Zambia, says he wants to incorporate new tactics of fighting transnational crime at Interpol if elected.
Lusaka, Feb. 23 – In this video, we discuss Africa’s candidate for Secretary General of the International Police, Interpol, 46 year old Mubita Nawa, a career police officer who has saved the Zambia Police Service for 29 years, rising to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Mr. Nawa, who is currently the Director for Administration in the Zambia Police Service, has been nominated by Zambia to contest for the Interpol job in November.
“A very big thank you to the Zambian government, to my country, for nominating me as the candidate for Interpol Secretary General of 2024. But also this is not only a Zambian matter, it was actually escalated to the regional police chiefs who met in Namibia some time last year, and all of them unanimously agreed to support Zambia in this bid,” Mr. Mubita Nawa narrated.
Mr. Nawa, who holds a bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree from the University of Zambia, says he wants to incorporate new tactics of fighting transnational crime at Interpol if elected.
“And therefore for us to be able to defeat criminal syndicates, we should speak with one voice, just as Africa has done really a very big thank you to the African leaders for this decision that they should rally behind one candidate so that we can speak with one voice,” he emphasized.
