Lusaka, May 29 – The current political system emphasizes allegiance to the Head of State and disciplined self-sacrifice for their interests, a regressive concept rooted in colonial origins and sustained by ignorance.
Our leaders must recognize that what we label as education is actually indoctrination, not liberation. Originally designed not to empower individuals to challenge limits to progress, but to enforce acceptance and administration of these limits efficiently.

The Kabwe incident highlights potential abuses of power and the need for transparency, accountability, and respect for human rights in our country’s political landscape.
This system initially promoted loyalty to the status quo and disciplined sacrifice for its preservation, discouraging people from holding leaders accountable and accepting suffering as inevitable.
True education, however, liberates and instills patriotism, which prioritizes the nation’s needs over those of any individual leader, in this case President Hakainde Hichilema.
Patriotism doesn’t entail blind support for the President but rather endorsing him only as long as he effectively serves the nation. It’s unpatriotic not to challenge him when he fails in his duty to prioritize the country.
Let’s, therefore, teach patriotism, not unquestioning loyalty, to our future generations!
