Lusaka, July 1 – “Fellow Citizens, Kindly join me this morning to wish New Heritage Party President, Madam Chishala Kateka, a happy birthday, which falls today. President Kateka is a diligent member of the United Kwacha Alliance (UKA) who, like other UKA comrades, has demonstrated commitment and passion to work with all of us for the betterment of our country. Once more, happy birthday to you! May God continue to bless and sustain you with good health,” Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, the President of Zambia, PF President and UKA member posted, yesterday the 30th of June on his Facebook page.
There’s need to usher and support women in politics. Studies show that women in leadership roles often lead to more transparent, inclusive, and effective governance. The late Margaret Thatcher once said, “If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman.”
If you were to put the New Heritage Party president, Ms. Chishala Kateka, next to President Hakainde Hichilema on the KCM issue, Ms. Thatcher would be crowned a prophetess, posthumously.

There is an urgent necessity to recognize that we must refrain from forcing women to conform to the corrupt practices prevalent in Zambian politics. Instead, we should strive to reshape Zambian politics to align with the integrity and efficiency demonstrated by women in their professional and domestic roles, especially when provided with the necessary resources.
In my view, women are the true architects of any society. This is largely because, unlike men, strong women do not merely possess attitudes; they uphold standards.

Supporting and promoting women in politics is essential for several reasons bringing on board diverse perspectives, representation, equality and fairness, and ultimately enhanced governance. Let’s see a bigger picture as we celebrate Madam Chishala Kateka’s birthday!
