“The Patriotic Front as the largest Opposition party in Parliament is part of the governance of this country and therefore this foolish behaviour by the Chief Registrar of Societies will, but, bring great embarrasment to President Hakainde Hichilema!” – Amb. Mwamba.
Lusaka, April 26 – According to the latest information at the registrar of societies, the Patriotic Front (PF) does not exist as a political party following its failure to elect officials and to hold a convention to choose its leaders. This breach gives the Zambian Constitution through the registrar of societies to deregister the grouping.
Recently Matero Member of Parliament, Miles Sampa, submitted that the current PF leadership is a fraud as it was not elected by the party membership as directed by the Zambian Constitution.

With the cancellation of its certificate, the PF will stop to exist and anyone claiming to be a member of a non existing group or society can be punished for impersonation and declaring false information.
The PF was asked to submit its leadership structure including minutes showing how people were elected but nothing was made available prompting the registrar of societies to effect the current move.
And Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba says that recently there have been various legal and administrative attempts and proccesses to deregister the opposition Patriotic Front.
But he recalls that in March 2012, Chief Registrar of Societies, Clement Andeleki, deregistered the Movement for Multiparty Democracy, thinking he was doing favours for the, then, ruling Patriotic Front party. The matter backfired bringing great political, national and international embarrasments to President Michael Sata. Amb. Mwamba says, as usual, we never learn from history.
“Hon.Clement Andeleki is now Katombora Member of Parliament. Maybe the UPND and their Registrar can ask him for some lessons. The Patriotic Front as the largest Opposition party in Parliament with about 58 Members of Parliament, is part of the governance of this country and therefore this foolish behaviour by the Chief Registrar of Societies will, but, bring great embarrasment to President Hakainde Hichilema,” Amb. Mwamba emphasises on his official Facebook page.
