Leadership is the ability to identify and put those with the technical know-how and ability in key positions needing such expertise. Chifunabuli must exercise leadership!
Lusaka, May 31 – The past weekend, Hon. Eng. Peter Chibwe Kapala, the current Minister of Energy, officiated at a few events hosted by the Peter Kapala Foundation in Chifunabuli District.
I would like to draw your attention to a specific tone of this article, “Leadership!” Chifunabuli must exercise political leadership because leadership is the ability to identify and put those with the technical know-how and ability in key positions needing such expertise. Chifunabuli Constituency development stagnation must come to an end!
“As someone who hails from Chifunabuli, I give back to my community through this foundation. During the 3-day tour that ended with me attending a church service before leaving for Lusaka, the Peter Kapala Foundation donated a second motor vehicle to the district, a hammer mill, blankets, mattresses and other items. I also took time to address Chibusa Women Group, which is sponsored by my wife Mrs. Juliet Kapala. Through the foundation, she has also rolled out an Eradicating Manutrition among Children program in Ng’umbo!” reads, in part his statement on his official Facebook page.
Hon. Kapala further says at one of the meetings he had with Chifunabuli residents and following their concerns, he disclosed that works on the Kasaba Road – which connects Luapula Province and Northern Province would soon resume.
“I assured them that I would lobby government so that at least 50kms of the remaining stretch of the road is tarred before 2025!” Hon. Eng. Peter Chibwe Kapala states in the Facebook statement.

The Peter Kapala Foundation, in giving back to the community, has bought shoes and books for all eligible pupils its programme area, mattresses and blankets for the old people, for boarding schools, for the hospital and for all health centres. Apart from the vehicle donated last weekend, the foundation earlier donated another vehicle for the community to use during funerals and also paid school and exam fees for all GCE candidates in the district. Further, 58 families in Mashitolo area, whose houses collapsed due to the heavy downpours earlier this year, have been helped by the Peter Kapala Foundation. The Foundation has, equally, reconstructed the Lubwe Secondary School kitchen. The foundation has also donated motor bikes, bicycles, clothes and water pumps.
On-going projects by the Foundation include:
◾The first ever fuel service station in Chifunabuli,
◾The first ever Radio Station in Chifunabuli,
◾The first ever Pharmacy in Chifunabuli,
◾The first ever rice processing mill in Chifunabuli.
With engineers already installing the rice mill, the plan to have rice farmers only paying a token of K1 to process the rice is on track.
Allow me to repeat my earlier statement. Leadership is the ability to identify and put those with the technical know-how and ability in key positions needing such expertise. Chifunabuli must exercise leadership!
